I heart henna.

I really want to get henna tattooed on my feet this summer. I think the intricate designs are so beautiful and exotic. I love the fact that it's not permanent, so it really frees you to just play around with it. What's really cool is that henna parlors are popping up all over the city...
Can't wait to try it!!

Ain't no sunshine...

Rain Boots, originally uploaded by lauren-go-lightly.

It's a cold and drizzly day here in LA, which is actually good since I need to get some house cleaning done. It's so hard for me to get in "cleaning mode" when it's bright and sunny outside. However, these rainy days also make me want to curl up in bed with a book. It's a toss up but at this very moment, I'm leaning toward the "go back to bed" mode...

Rainy days always make me wish I had some bright yellow wellies!!

Here are some I love from ebay:

Butterfly lace up wellies

Turquoise Flower Lace Up wellies

Tan Plaid Wellies

Russian Babuska Dolls Wellies

J Crew Wool Luxe Wellies

Chevron Dress, originally uploaded by hihlo studio.

I love this dress!! So hard to find a vintage dress like this that is in good condition. It's current yet timeless, so this dress will never go out of style!!! How many things in your closet can you say that about??

Only in my dreams...for now.

Montmartre. Paris.-, originally uploaded by ancama_99(toni).

I've been daydreaming about Paris a lot lately. It's one of my dreams to visit the flea markets there. I'm also a huge lover of the Art Nouveau style which is evident everywhere in Paris...even in the entrance to their metro system! Now that's glamour! I wonder if Parisians take all that architectural beauty for granted or are somewhat immune to it since they see it all the time...

I also wonder if Paris is better in my fantasy of it than it would be in reality. I hate the smell of smoke, and I have a wheat allergy and am fairly lactose intolerant...so I'd barely be able to eat anything there! Although I'd forget about my dairy intolerance and head straight for their cheese. You can't go to Paris and not have cheese, darlings!!

What city do you find yourself dreaming about these days??

More Duy Huynh - "Opening Scene"

Artist you should know about: Duy Huynh

duy huynh - rebirth, originally uploaded by Lark and Key Gallery.

I stumbled upon this Vietnamese artist during the six months I lived in Nashville about a year ago. I was instantly moved by his dreamy, other wordly paintings. There is such a warmth and depth that comes through his brush strokes. He owns a gallery in North Carolina called Lark & Key. You can also buy his limited edition prints and originals through their website.

Such splendor...

splendor in the grass, originally uploaded by willsmithforprez.

I'm trying to watch more classic films, since I've only seen a handful, so my first choice was Splendor in the Grass. What a treat! I must say I was skeptical going into it but was quickly smitten by the over the top acting and the wildly handsome Warren Beatty. I had no idea he was THAT handsome...but now I understand how he got the ladies man reputation. Not to mention the lovely Natalie Wood, who wears a dreamy white ensemble to visit her beau, played by Beatty, one last time. I think it's every girls dream to look that good when seeing a guy who's raked you over the coals.
