Top Five Dresses From The Emmy's

Some of the trends I noticed were:
*Sparkly dresses
*Long, to the floor dresses
*An absence of jewelry (Except for Heidi Klum who rocked a ruby and diamond stunner!!)

Christina Hendricks wearing Zac Posen: I love the smoky lavender color and the wispy feathers...fits her perfectly.

Claire Danes wearing Armani Prive: One of the best sparkly gowns...the color makes her look luminous.

January Jones wearing Versace: I still don't know if I actually like this dress, but it's just such a showstopper. The color is insanely beautiful.

Dianna Agron wearing Carolina Herrera: She's channeling Grace Kelly here...I love the classic beauty of this dress. *Sigh*

Keri Russell wearing Vintage: So simple yet perfect. The most lovely shade of pink...and I love the shoes and her hair!

Heidi Klum wearing Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry: W.O.W

Bow Mania!!!

I've been noticing a lot of bows showing up on shoes and handbags lately. I love the girly-ness of bows, especially in these colors. I'm really lusting over the Vivienne Westwood bow flats and the Grey Minnie heels...and of course the Valentino "Aphrodite" bag, but that one will be filed under "Stuff to get when I win the lottery". Happy Friday!!!

Anything catching your eye??

I could have danced all night...

I really wish I had a reason to wear a fancy gown!! I think it's the repressed Debutante in me...

Wouldn't it be grand to be able to wear any one of these beauties??

Sophie Dahl Inspires Fashion Magazine Giftwrap Part Deux

Sophie Dahl

One of my bestest friends celebrated her birthday over the weekend and she is a crazy good cook that loves to play in the kitchen. So when I saw this charming cookbook by model turned chef, Sophie Dahl, I knew I had found the perfect gift. "Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights" is full of simple yet tasty recipes and lovely photos. Turns out the British Miss Dahl also has or had her own cooking show on the BBC which I found some clips of and was instantly smitten. She just draws you into her kitchen with her cute accent and you feel like your hanging out with your best girlfriend who refuses to count calories!! Heaven.

Edie Beale

As promised, here are some lovely vintage photos of Edie Beale before her Grey Gardens days. She was such a classic beauty...I think she looks a bit like Kate Winslet in some of these photos. At the end of the post is a great clip from the Grey Gardens Documentary where Edie explains her take on her costume choice for the day...

Perfection.

EVERYBODY has been raving about the J. Crew Fall lookbook and it's easy to see why...the styling by JC creative director, Jenna Lyons, is spot on. It's the layered look done to perfection. It looks thrown together without looking too thought out. I also love the color scheme which has a neutrality to it with tiny punches of color. After drooling over every page of the lookbook, I felt it had a Grey Gardens feel to it...and I was right!! In the video below, Jenna said the inspiration for the shoot was "Edie Beale goes to summer camp". I'm also in love with the "electric pink" lip color they use in the shoot from NARS called "Funny Face"...I'm going to be wearing that this Fall for sure.

*Be sure to check back tomorrow for my post about Edie Beale!!*

J'adore French Fashion

At the newsstand the other day I stumbled upon L'OFFICIEL magazine. What got me was their cover girl, Alexa Chung, sporting the prettiest 60's hairdo. I really love her style and will generally buy any magazine she shows up in. I've included some of her photoshoot along with some other standouts from this issue...ENJOY!!

Vintage Furry Ladies.

With fur making such a comeback this Fall, I wanted to share some of my favorite ladies in fur with you. It's been extremely hot here in Los Angeles this week, but looking at these photos is helping me cool off... Burr!

Seriously, what looks more glamourous than (faux) fur??

P.S. No animals were hurt during the posting of these photos ;)

A Craving Fulfilled.

I finally got some yummy macarons yesterday! I stopped into Little Next Door and treated myself to lunch, complete with a stroll down Macaron Lane. I left with flavors like lavender, passionfruit, dulce de leche, and pistachio. Heaven.

I loved this little sign that was hanging in their patisserie which translates to "All our pastry is made by the house".

Here is a shot of some of my jewelry...I've really been into piling on tons of bracelets, mixing earthy elements with gold or something sparkly. The turquoise beads are actually a necklace that I got on a road trip through Sedona. Their called "ghost beads" , supposedly for protection.

I love my Steve Madden shoes! They have a straw wedge heel which you can't see here...I throw them on with all kinds of outfits.

What cravings have you fulfilled lately??
